A cooperation agreement between the Diplomatic Institute in Syria and the Higher Institute for International Relations in Cuba
The Director of the Diplomatic Institute in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Imad Mustafa, and the Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Luis Mariano Rodriguez acting on behalf of the Higher Institute for International Relations in the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutes, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Damascus.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al –Miqdad, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of South American countries in Damascus attended the signing ceremony.
On this occasion, Minister Al –Miqdad stressed the deep historical relations that bring together the two friendly countries, Syria and Cuba, pointing to the importance of this agreement in terms of exchanging diplomatic and professional experiences, and that it is a new chapter of fruitful cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Al –Miqdad talked about the crimes committed by the Zionist occupation forces in Gaza and the exacerbation of the human tragedy experienced by the Palestinian people as a result of the increasing massacres and crimes against humanity, with most of the victims being children, women and the elderly.
Minister Al –Miqdad noted the positions taken by countries in South America by cutting their relations with the Zionist entity, calling on the rest of their countries to take positions against Israeli aggressive policies and their practices that violate international humanitarian law.
In turn, the Ambassador of Cuba in Damascus delivered a speech in which he pointed to the strength of relations between Syria and Cuba and mutual support between the two countries in international forums.
He pointed to the importance of signing this agreement in terms of exchanging experiences in a way that reflects positively on the Syrian and Cuban diplomatic cadres.
He affirmed his country’s condemnation of the crimes committed by the Israeli forces against the Palestinian people.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ambassador Bassam Al -Sabbagh, and a number of managers in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
