The Czech Smichov Philharmonic Orchestra, in cooperation with the Singing Ensemble of the Higher Technical University of Prague, presented a concert yesterday evening in Prague, the proceeds of which were allocated to those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria last February.
The head of the orchestra, Joseph Vondracek, expressed his solidarity and that of members of the band with the Syrian people in the earthquake disaster, indicating that he will hold another concert at the end of July, the proceeds of which also will be allocated to Syria earthquake victims.
Vondracek pointed out that the proceeds of this concert will be presented to the Syrian Embassy in Prague in order to be sent to Syria.
The ceremony was attended by the Charge d’Affair of the Syrian Embassy in Prague, Amira Qarawni, MPs from the Czech Republic, the Czech Consul in Damascus, Czech audience and members of the Syrian community in Prague.
