Damascus (ST): The Syrian Post Corporation issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day.In a statement, the Corporation stated that those interested can obtain the stamp from post offices in the governorates.
Martyrs’ Day, which falls on the sixth of May every year, is a national holiday celebrated by Syria and Lebanon to commemorate the martyrdom of 21 national figures opposed to the Ottoman occupation who were executed by Jamal Pasha al-Saffah(the ripper ) in 1916 in the Burj Squares in Beirut and Marjeh in Damascus.
