A civilian from Raqqa died in an SDF prison a year after being kidnapped

A Syrian citizen from Raqqa died in the prisons of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militia more than a year after being kidnapping by this militia.

Local sources told SANA that one of the former workers in Raqqa Firefighting Center has died in one of the SDF’s prisons a year after his kidnapping.

The cause of his death has not been verified yet, according to local sources.

The SDF militia resorts to kidnapping civilians, particularly young men, under several pretext, either to recruit them within its ranks or the so-called self-defense duty groups or because of the locals’ rejection of the SDF militants’ aggressive practices against civilians in the villages and towns under the militia’s control.
