A civil initiative launched  in Damascus, its countryside, and Homs to provide school supplies to the children of martyrs and needy families

Coinciding with the approaching start of the new academic year, and in support of orphan students, children of martyrs, and needy families in Damascus and its countryside, the “Syria Brings Us Together” foundation launched a project to distribute bags, school supplies, and stationery tools to families of students.
In a statement to SANA, the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Rami Al-Halabi said  that this initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Bank of Syria and the Gulf under the title “Youth, the Pulse of the Nation,” and is renewed every year within the framework of social responsibility, out of belief in the importance of science in building the nation and alleviating the burdens imposed on the people.
Al-Halabi pointed out that the Foundation began distributing school supplies at its headquarters in Damascus on Tuesday,  and is continuing to reach the largest number of beneficiaries. At the same time, it is working on a number of initiatives to care for students, build their capabilities, and motivate them, emphasizing the importance of solidarity among members of society in the light of the economic conditions it faces, in addition to supporting the families of the martyrs, the wounded, and the most needy families, by holding recreational activities, distributing food supplies to orphanages, and establishing development and health projects.
It is worth to mention that the foundation, which was established in 2011, aims to provide support to the families of the martyrs, the wounded, and families in need. It has also launched a pharmaceutical project that includes providing periodic and free medicines to about 1,500 patients per month with chronic diseases, who suffer from obtaining them due to the conditions of the war on Syria and the unjust economic blockade.
Meanwhile, a number of charitable organizations in Homs  governorate launched on Wednesday initiatives to distribute stationery and school bags to children in preparation for the new school year.
