DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The Ministry of Electricity and Iran ‘s engineering and oil company on Tuesday signed four contracts worth 40 million euros in order to supply Syria with high voltage transformers and essential equipment for electricity transfer stations.
Minister of Electricity Imad Khamis told reporters that these contracts come in the framework of continuous cooperation between Syria and Iran, and a result of mutual cooperation between Iranian companies and the Ministry of Electricity , adding that these contracts state supplying Syria with high voltage transformers of 400, 230 and 66 kV and equipment essential to the transfer stations .
For his part Director General of the electric power transmission Nasouh Smesmieh said that the equipment to be supplied under the signed contracts are the backbone for operating and future expansion of the country ‘s electrical network .
