Pretoria (ST): The Minister of International Relations in South Africa Naledi Pandor described Washington’s allegations claiming that Iran was planning to assassinate the US ambassador Lana Marx as extremely strange.
Interviewed by the local Sky News Network Naledi said: “It was an extremely strange allegation and our friends in Iran are astonished like us. She wondered “ Why Iran, the very good friend of South Africa would commit a horrible act on our soil?!”
Nalindi added that we affirmed through the statement of the security minister that diplomats are safe in our country.
Earlier, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Sa’ed Khatib Zadeh stressed Iran’s categorical rejection of the US allegations calling on the US officials to abandon such schemes that create an unpleasant atmosphere for Iran at the international arena.
