Corona infections around the world are close to 29 million

Capitals, (ST) – The Corona virus has killed 924,714 people around the world since it began spreading last December.

According to data released by the Worldo meter website today, the number of HIV infections worldwide reached 28952,983 cases, while the deaths reached 924,714 cases, and 20815931 people recovered.

In Russia, the Special Operations Room to combat the spread of the coronavirus announced today that 5449 new cases of the epidemic were recorded in 84 Russian regions, compared to 5488 infections yesterday, in addition to 94 new deaths, compared to 119 deaths yesterday.

This brought the total number of infections to 1062,811, including 18,578 deaths, while 2,690 patients recovered from the disease since yesterday, bringing the total number of people recovering in Russia to 876225 people.

Philippines today recorded 3,372 new infections and 79 other deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 261216, which is the highest number of SARS cases in Southeast Asia, and deaths to 4,317.

In Indonesia, data from the Ministry of Health showed that 3,636 new infections and 73 deaths from the Coronavirus were recorded, bringing the total number of people infected to 218,382 and deaths to 8,723, which is the largest death toll from the disease in the Southeast Asian region.

The capital, Jakarta, is set to re-impose strict and widespread restrictions from tomorrow to contain the spread of the disease in the large city.

In the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Health announced 1541 new cases of the virus and this is the fifth day in a row in which the number of daily infections exceeds a thousand, as the country is witnessing an increase in the number of infections at a rate that is among the fastest in the European Union, and the government has tightened the rules for wearing masks, but it aims to avoid imposing strict public isolation measures.
