The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces repel an attack by “ ISIS” in Diyala
The Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces have announced that they had repelled an attack by the terrorist organization “ISIS ” north of Khanaqin district in the governorate of Diyala.
“The forces of the 28th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces were able to defeat the remnants of the terrorist group ISIS that launched an attack on their units north of Khanaqin on September 6’s evening,” Alsumaria News Website quoted the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces as saying in a statement.
The statement said that the ISIS terrorists fled after the attack was thwarted, and they are being pursued.
The statement said that the attack resulted in the death of one of the Brigade commanders by a sniper fire while participating in confrontation with terrorists.
The joint Iraqi forces continue their military and security operations to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorists in various Iraqi cities and regions.
