Syria Remains a Country of Free Faith, Security- Grand Mufti

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ The Republic ‘s Grand Mufti Dr. Ahmad Badr Eddine Hassoun, stressed that Syria is a country of love and peace that embraced all Arabs and Muslims, pointing out that having some misled young Tunisians does not change the fact that the Tunisian people love Syria

Hassoun added during a meeting on Monday with a Tunisian delegation including people, religious, media and trade union activists currently visiting Syria: “the Tunisian delegation is in Syria to say that misled Tunisians came to Syria after they were told that Syria is far from Islam and injustice and the delegation will return with those misled to tell the world that Syria will remain a country of free faith security, freedom and dignity.”

Scholar in al-Zeitounah university in Tunis, Sheikh Abdul Majid al-Barari said that suspect fatwas are foreign backed and funded and some young Tunisian were misled, as a result of allegedly religious trends.

Families of some misled Tunisians stressed that the inciting fatwas made by Takfiri Sheikhs were the cause of misleading their children and keeping them away from the real Jihad in Palestine, calling on Tunisian youth not follow Qatari Fatwa sheikhs , including al-Qaradawi .

A Tunisian delegation including representatives of political and people parties and movements led by secretary general of the Tunisian Thawabet party Dr. Shukri Hermasi visited Syria in May and its members voiced Tunisian people solidarity with Syria against the foreign aggression led by Israel , some regional countries and the West, targeting Syria over its adherence to resistance and commitment to Arab issues.
