On August 31, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to fully liberating its soil from the Israeli occupation and its adherence to the national resistance that constituted a model in confronting aggression and occupation.
In a speech on the 42nd anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa Al-Sadr and his two companions, Berri said: “ The resistance is fully prepared and ready to confront any Israeli aggression on Lebanon.”
Berri stressed that unity between the sons of resistance and the one nation alone is capable of protecting Lebanon.
Berri warned against the continuation of some ‘irresponsible’ political actions and behavior.
On government affairs, Berri called for an end to media campaigns and stressed the need to expedite the formation of a strong, inclusive government that has a reform program with a specific time period that equates with the reconstruction of what was destroyed in Beirut and carrying out the necessary reforms.
Berri said that the Palestinian issue was and will remain a priority in the nation’s conscience, its charter, and the compass of the Arab people until the establishment of the independent, free and sovereign Palestinian state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
With regard to the case of Imam al-Sadr and his two companions, Berri said : “ This case will not die and will not end until all the circumstances surrounding it are revealed.”
