Unidentified persons kill five US-backed SDF militants, including a ringleader, in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and Hasaka

DEIR EZZOR, (ST)-  A leader in the US-backed Kurdish militia called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed on Saturday when unidentified persons on a motorcycle opened fire at him in Sweidan Jazira town in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside, SANA reporter said citing local sources.

On August 11, the SDF militia stormed Sweida Jazira town and kidnapped a number of civilians in a bid to control the angry protests calling for the expulsion of SDF and the US occupation forces from the area.

The countryside of Deir Ezzor has been witnessing protests demanding the expulsion of the American occupation troops and the SDF militia, which has been harassing the people, stealing their property, besieging villages and towns, kidnapping dozens of youths, targeting tribal dignitaries and stealing the resources of Syria’s al-Jazira region.

Meantime in Hasaka southern countryside, four SDF militants were killed when unidentified persons targeted one of their positions in al-Serajeyeh village, to the southeast of al-Shaddadi city near the Syrian-Iraqi borders, local sources told SANA reporter in Hasaka.

On August 23, a number of SDF militants were killed and wounded when an explosive device, attached to their vehicle, blew up in Jalal village, to the east of al-Shaddadi city.
