U.S. troops injured in Russian vehicle collision in Syria, U.S. officials say

U.S. troops in Syria were wounded this week when a Russian military patrol slammed into their vehicle, U.S. officials said on Wednesday.

Reuters quoted two officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, as saying several U.S. troops suffered concussive symptoms following the incident.

White House National Security Council spokesman John Ullyot said the incident took place on Aug. 25 in northeast Syria.

“To de-escalate the situation, the coalition patrol departed from the area,” he said. “The coalition and the United States do not seek escalation with any national military force.”

So far, the US military’s Central Command and the Pentagon have refused to comment about the incident. The U.S. military does not generally comment on injuries.

The American occupation forces are present illegally in the Syrian Jazeera region to steal oil and the Syrian underground wealth. Russia has been participating in the war on terror alongside the Syrian Arab Army since September 2015 at the request of the Syrian Arab Republic. During this period, terrorist organizations have suffered heavy losses.
