Third round of meetings of the Constitutional Committee on Syria kicks off in Geneva

GENEVA, (ST)- Meetings of the mini constitutional committee that were formed from the enlarged Committee for discussing amendments to the Syrian constitution, kicked off on Monday in Geneva with the participation of the national delegation.

Geir Pedersen, the UN Chief’s Special Envoy for Syria, recently announced that the meetings of the third round of the Constitutional Committee on Syria will be held on August 24, 2020 in Geneva.

Previously, the mini committee, a 45-member body representing the different components of the Syrian society, held two meetings in Geneva during November, 2019.

 The mini constitutional body consists of 45 members, 15 for the national delegation, 15 others for the civil society and the remaining 15 represent the opposition delegation.
