Health Ministry receives Iranian medical aid to bolster efforts to combat Corona virus

The Ministry of Health received today medical aid provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran to fortify the efforts of health staff in charge of addressing the Corona virus, including requirements for virus detection and devices for measuring temperature and oxygenation.

In a statement to reporters, Iran’s ambassador to Syria, Jawad Turkabadi, stated that this aid comes within the “framework of the distinguished relations between Syria and Iran”, stressing his country’s continued cooperation to confront the virus.

The Iranian ambassador noted that the assistance provided includes Iranian products in the context of treating the novel corona virus that has hit the world, adding that the Iranian experts and scientists have been able to produce devices, pharmaceutical products and components that help to discover and treat this epidemic.

In a similar statement, Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Khleifawi said that this aid supports the health sector; especially after the difficulties it faced during the long years of war and in light of the economic blockade and unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.

Dr. Khleifawi pointed out that this cooperation comes as a confirmation of the strong deeply rooted relations between the two countries, pointing out that the aid, which is all Iranian made, reflects the progress realized by  the Islamic Republic of Iran in the scientific, technological and medical fields.
