Tehran,(ST)-Iranian President Hassan Rouhani affirmed that America has withdrawn from the nuclear agreement and therefore has no right to activate the conflict resolution mechanism included in the agreement.
Rouhani said in a speech during the Iranian government meeting today that “Iran’s survival in the nuclear agreement after Washington’s withdrawal from it cost America a lot,” explaining that “America has become isolated while the Iranian people have prevailed in their confrontation with its plans.”
Rouhani pointed out that “International Resolution 2231 stipulates that one or all of the parties to the nuclear agreement can activate the mechanism for resolving the conflict. As for America, today it is not a party to the agreement, and therefore America’s claims to activate the dispute settlement mechanism in the nuclear agreement are wrong.”
Rouhani expressed his country’s thanks to the countries that voted against or abstained from voting to the US draft resolution to extend the arms embargo on Iran in the UN Security Council, saying that “Washington has suffered a historic defeat in the Security Council.”
The Iranian president stressed that Iran “will stand up with all its strength in front of the United States and everyone who stands in the face of the Iranian people,” stressing that “the resistance of this people will break the sanctions and the titans of the White House will go.”
