Mufti of Palestine bans Emirati citizens from praying in Al-Aqsa Mosque over normalization deal with Israel

The Mufti of occupied al-Quds and Palestine, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, announced on Monday that he has forbidden the Emirati citizens from praying in Al-Aqsa Mosque pursuant to a fatwa issued in 2012 against all who normalize relations with Israel or reconcile with it.

The German News Agency (DPA) quoted Sheikh Hussein as saying that “the 2012 fatwa for the pilgrimage to Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque announced certain conditions, among which was not normalization.”

 “Since the agreement between the UAE and Israel includes normalization, therefore, pilgrimage to al-Quds is not permissible and is forbidden for Emirati people,” Sheikh Hussein made it clear.

Earlier, the UAE said in a statement regarding its normalization agreement with Israel that “under this peace plan, all Muslims could go to Al-Aqsa Mosque and pray there, and that other holy sites in al-Quds should be open to worshipers of all religions.
