Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba: Syria is a model for steadfastness, and it will overcome all the challenges it faces

On August 13, the Cuban First Deputy Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina said  that Syria is a model for steadfastness and resistance and expressed  his confidence that Syria  will overcome all the challenges it faces.

During his meeting with the Syrian ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mia at the headquarters of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs in  Havana on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Medina expressed his pride in the long march of distinguished relations linking Syria and Cuba.

He added that the two countries share a bright history of struggle. against global imperialism and defending the values of equality and justice.

 

Medina expressed his great appreciation for the victories and sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army in facing the terrorist organizations, noting the courageous leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad.

In turn, Ambassador Mia stressed that Syria and Cuba have managed, during the long march of their relations extending over more than half a century, to establish a distinguished relationship.

Mia said that the current circumstances and common challenges require strengthening bilateral relations in all fields, especially economic ones, for the good and in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples.

Mia expressed his high appreciation for the stances of the Republic of Cuba in support of Syria in facing the conspiracy that it is exposed to, especially in international forums and organizations.
