The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced that the World Food Program intends to send 50,000 tons of flour to Lebanon.
Reuters quoted that “the World Food Program will send 50 thousand tons of wheat flour to Lebanon to achieve a measure of stability in the country’s supplies, enhance national supplies and ensure that there is no shortage of food in Lebanon.”
The report added that “the first shipment of 17,500 tons is scheduled to arrive to Beirut within ten days to supply the bakeries for a month.”
The Lebanese President General Michel Aoun stressed in a speech during the “International Support Conference for Beirut and the Lebanese People” that was held yesterday by video link that meeting the needs of the Lebanese people after the disaster of the explosion in Beirut Port is a huge responsibility and should be accelerated before the onset of winter.
