Russian DM: Illegitimate US presence impedes inter-Syrian dialogue

Moscow (ST): The Russian Defense Ministry said that the illegitimate US presence in the Syrian al-Jezira region obstructs dialogue between the Syrians.

The Russian Coordination Center said  in a statement that illegal presence of the US in the Syrian al-Jezira area has become the main reason behind hampering dialogue between the Syrians, referring to the fact that the situation in the areas which are not under the control of the Syrian state in Deir Ezour is deteriorating day by day. The center asserted that Syria and Russia were ready to take all measures necessary to settle the situation in areas of the Syrian al-Jezira.

The statement added  that the terrorists were targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s positions and trying to attack the Hmeimim Air Base, stressing that Russia retains the right to hit back at the terrorists if they constitute a threat to the areas near de-escalation zone in Idleb.
