The first local vaccine for COVID-19 is ready, says Russian Defense Ministry

Moscow, (ST) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the first vaccine for Covid 19, manufactured and produced by military specialists and scientists from the Russian Gimali Research Center, is ready.

Russia Today website quoted First Deputy Defense Minister Ruslan Tsalikov as saying in a press interviewthat “Military specialists and scientists have made the final assessments of the results of the new vaccine test. All the volunteers who participated in the vaccine test are well and they have acquired immunity against the virus and thus we can say that the first local vaccine against covid 19 infection is  ready.

The press office of the Ministry of Defense announced earlier that the documents for the registration of the aforementioned vaccine were submitted to the Russian Ministry of Health on the 30th of last month .

Yesterday, the Ministry announced that the clinical trials phase of the vaccine had been successfully completed.
