Baghdad, (ST) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed the necessity of remaining ready to face the threat of terrorism and the security threats posed by terrorist organizations, including ISIS, to the countries of the region.
Zarif said during a joint press conference today with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein in Baghdad quoted by the IRNA Agency, that the relations between the two countries are based on the principle of mutual respect and are stable and will not be shaken, stressing the need to strengthen these relations in economic fields to serve the interests of both sides.
Zarif said that he discussed with his counterpart various issues related to navigation, water borders and rail links between the two countries, pointing to the existence of many agreements with Iraq that will be activated.
The Iraqi minister stressed the importance of nurturing common regional interests, non-interference in internal affairs, and keeping the region away from international tensions, stressing that his country wants balanced relations with all neighboring countries.
