Cairo (ST): Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri denied the allegations of Turkish Foreign Minister regarding the existence of contacts between Egypt and Turkey on Libya.
In a telephone call with Sada al-Balad satellite channel, Shukri denied the existence of any contacts between Egypt and Turkey during the past period.
Regarding the Turkish threats to launch a military attack in al-Jafra and Sert in Libya, Shukri said that such an attack would be a flagrant violation of the UN Security Council resolutions and the International legitimacy, noting that the Libyan army would confront the Turkish occupation and repel it.
Earlier, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi affirmed that there were external forces that support violence and terrorism in Libya, expressing the readiness of his country to offer all possible support to help Libyan people.
In turn, the spokesman for the Libyan army major general Ahmed al-Mesmari expressed the readiness of the Libyan army to confront any attack in al-Jafra and Sert, stressing that all the agreements signed between the government of al-Wifak and the Turkish regime are illegitimate.
