Egypt, France, Germany and Jordan affirm Israeli plans to annex parts of the West Bank violate international law

The foreign ministers of Egypt, France, Germany, and Jordan stressed on Tuesday that the Israeli occupation’s plans to annex parts of the West Bank violate the international law and will have serious consequences on the security and stability of the region.

A statement, distributed by the German Foreign Ministry after a video conference between the Foreign Minister of Egypt Sameh Shoukry, of Germany Heiko Maas, of France Jean-Yves Le Drian and of Jordan Ayman Safadi, said: “we will not recognize any changes to the 1967 borders that are not agreed upon between the parties concerned in the conflict … We all believe that this step will have serious consequences on the security and stability of the region and will constitute a major obstacle to efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace,” according to Reuters.

The Israeli occupation entity’s announcement of plans to annex parts of the occupied West Bank has sparked international condemnation. Many American and European cities have witnessed demonstrations condemning and rejecting the occupation’s plans that come within the framework of the so-called “Deal of the Century” which aims at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
