French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian reaffirmed that the plans of the Israeli occupation to annex parts of the West Bank violate international law and will not pass without consequences.
“France is still committed to working for achieving a just and permanent settlement to the conflict, which is based on a two-state solution in accordance with international law and agreed standards. France will continue to act against any measures that would undermine the conditions for resuming negotiations, ” Le Drian addressed today to Secretary of the Executive committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization Saeb Erekat.
Le Drian stressed that his country informed the occupation authorities of its rejection of any unilateral decision that entails annexing any part of the Palestinian territories.
The occupation authorities continue to promote its plan to annex parts of the West Bank in implementation of the provisions of the so-called “deal of the century”, which Washington announced in late January after it actually began implementing it in late 2017 by declaring Jerusalem the capital of the usurping entity and moving its embassy to it in May 2018 despite the widespread Palestinian and international rejection of these measures that violate international law and international legitimacy decisions.
