TEHRAN, (ST)- Speaker of Iran’s Shoura Council (Parliament) Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has stressed that Iran won’t allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to act freely or without restrictions in Iran.
During a parliament session attended by Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Ghalibaf said the IAEA’s Board of Governors must realize that Iran won’t allow the agency to act freely in Iran to serve the intelligence and espionage work of Iran’s enemies.
He called on the Iranian government to implement its decisions to reduce the country’s commitments to the 2015 nuclear deal, in response to the IAEA’s excessive demands.
The IAEA Board of Governors adopted a resolution calling on Iran to fully cooperate with the IAEA in implementing its NPT Safeguards Agreement and Additional Protocol and satisfy the IAEA’s requests without further delay.
In a speech during the meeting, Zarif warned against the US continuous attempts to suggest that Iran poses a security threat and to use this pretext to strike Iran.
