Rouhani: The United States and other countries have worked to stoke the crisis in Syria by supporting terrorist organizations

Tehran,(ST)-Iranian President Hassan Rouhani emphasized that some countries, led by the United States, worked towards  stoking the crisis in Syria by providing support to terrorist organizations there.

Rouhani explained in a speech during the Iranian government meeting today that these countries tried to influence the relationship between the Syrian people and their government, and also worked to provide support in various forms to terrorist organizations and to impose political and economic pressure on the Syrian people.

Rouhani pointed to the efforts made by the guarantors of the Astana process to resolve the crisis in Syria, explaining that the discussions that will be held today between Russia and Iran and the Turkish regime through video represent a continuation of cooperation in this regard.

On the other hand, Rouhani considered that the United States suffered a severe defeat yesterday in the UN Security Council when all members expressed their support for the nuclear agreement, stressing that if America tries to attack Iran politically, it will respond firmly.

Rouhani said: “We are ready to cooperate with the international community if it adheres to the provisions of the nuclear agreement,” stressing that his country has always abided by its legal and moral obligations.

Rouhani pointed out that the damage that America has done to the nuclear agreement was limited to the economic side, noting the good engagement between Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, India and the rest of the region and Tehran’s commitment to dialogue with all countries of the world.
