Participants in the Coronavirus Global Response summit held on Saturday evening called for the necessity of providing the vaccine upon reaching it to everyone who needs it. The summit was held as part of a joint initiative between the European Commission and Global Citizen Organization.
Russia Today website quoted European Commission President Ursula Von Der Line as saying during the summit that it is “necessary to provide the vaccine to everyone who needs it.”
In turn, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “If an effective vaccine is found, then as global leaders we will have a moral obligation to ensure that it is available to all.”
For his part, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his determination to unite efforts in this framework, saying, “We must reject the unilateral approach and continue to move forward together.”
For its part, Italy, which was hit hard by the virus, agreed on this opinion.
The summit also included a television ceremony which was broadcast worldwide to raise funds for use in corona virus detection tests, related to treatments and vaccines, and also to support the world’s poorest and most marginalized communities.
