US “Caesar Act” an aggression on Syria’s sovereignty: al-Quds International Foundation: Dr. Shaaban

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The terrorist war on Syria has aimed at breaking the will of resistance of the Syrian people and of Syria’s allies in the axis of resistance and its friends in the axis of combating terrorism, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, the Presidential Political and Media Advisor, said during a press conference on Saturday following the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of al-Quds International Foundation-Syria.

Dr. Shaaban, the chairperson of the Board of Trustees, said that the economic terrorism being practiced against the Syrian people through the unfair US “Caesar Act” coincides with the Israeli occupation plan to annex and steal more Palestinian lands and displace the original Palestinian population.

She stressed that Syria, which has been fighting terrorism over the past ten years continues today to combat economic terrorism and support Palestine against all the schemes that aim at handing this region over to the Zionist entity.

Dr. Shaaban pointed out that as terrorism was defeated in Syria, the occupation of Palestine and other Arab lands will be defeated whether the occupier is Israel, Turkey or America.

In a press release, Director General of al-Quds International Foundation, Dr. Khalaf al-Miftah, said that the Board of Trustees calls on all national and humanitarian forces in the world to back Syria in the confrontation of the Zionist-American schemes and in its fight to liberate the entire country from terrorism and occupation.

The board affims that the so-called Caesar Act violates Syria’s sovereignty, supports terrorists in Syria and punishes the Syrian people who have been fighting terrorism for years in defense of humanity, Dr. al-Miftah added.

The board also rejects the ill-famed “Deal of the Century” and calls for standing against US President Donald Trump’s decision to consider occupied al-Quds as the capital of the Zionist entity and to recognize Israel’s annexation of the occupied Syrian Golan, he pointed out.
