Algerian figures launch initiative to break blockade imposed on Syria

Algiers (ST): A number of Algerian personalities including  Jamilah Bohairad and Lakhdar Bu Roka’a are working to form an Afro-Arab committee for breaking the American and Western blockade being imposed on Syria and send food and medical convoys to Syria.

In a statement titled “ No to Starving Syrian People”, the Algerian personalities called on free people in the world to reject the so-called Caesar Act and stand in confrontation of the US arrogance, noting that the Israeli hegemony, backed by some lackey Arab regimes, were behind Caesar Act.

The statement pointed out that after the failure of all the US attempts to break the will of the Syrian people, the American administration moved to a new phase aiming to starve the Syrian people  and halt the reconstruction process in Syria through taking unprecedented punitive measures against Syria and its allies.

Algerian journalist Rasheed Weld Bu Sayyafa said in an interview with al-Mayadin TV channel that the Algerian initiative was launched to support Syria in confrontation of the unfair Caesar Act which aims starve  Syrians and halt the reconstruction process in it.

He added that this unfair Act was issued to protect the Zionist entity through tightening the noose on the axis of the resistance as Syria constitutes the main base of this axis.
