One million residents in Hasaka suffer from water shortage due to Turkish regime’s inhumane acts

The Turkish regime’s forces and mercenaries continue to practice the most inhuman techniques  on civilians in Syria’s Hasaka province by controlling the pumping of water from Alouk water station in the Turkish-occupied city of Ras al-Ayn, and preventing workers  from operating the station which  negatively affects the pumping of drinking water to the city and deprives residents of drinking water.

A number of workers at Alouk station told the Syrian News Agency (SANA) that Turkish occupation forces prevent them from reaching the station to carry out maintenance operations and to operate it, adding that reducing the quantity of water pumping leads to low water pressure at residential areas in the province..

The residents also asserted that these aggressive practices are war crimes, demanding the international organizations to protect Alouk station as it the main source of drinking water and not to allow the Turkish occupation to continue blackmailing civilians in this inhuman manner, especially that any fault in the water pumps  will cause them to stop working  which in turn will threaten the lives of about one million people in Hasaka city and nearby areas.

They indicated drinking water reaches Hasaka’s districts only eight days a month amid high temperatures because of the terrorist mercenaries’ practices.

Director General of Water Establishment of Hasaka Mahmoud Akleh said that the pumping water is inconstant as the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries control the pumping operations in Alouk station.

He affirmed the continuation of efforts with all concerned parties in the area to enable workers of the station to fulfill their duty in supervising the maintenance and pumping work .
