Guterres: Israeli plans to annex Palestinian lands constitute the most serious violation of international law

UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, affirmed that the plans of the Israeli occupation to annex lands from the occupied West Bank “will be disastrous” for the region and constitute the most serious violation of international law.

“This step will threaten the efforts of pacification  in the region and the elimination of the prospects for the establishment of a viable Palestinian state as well as the solution of the two states,” Agence France-Press quoted Guterres as saying.

Guterres called on the Israeli occupation entity to abandon its plans to annex areas of the occupied West Bank because it constitutes “the most serious violation of international law.”

The United Nations has repeatedly warned the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation entity against the consequences of his announcement to annex Palestinian lands in the occupied West Bank to his usurping entity, stressing that this scheme will have no international legal basis.
