The Cabinet highlights daily follow-up of citizens’ living issues and securing basic materials in the outlets of the Syrian Trade Establishment in sufficient quantities
The Cabinet asked all ministries, public bodies and private sector institutions to fully comply with the health requirements for sterilization, hygiene and spatial distance between workers, regulate the provision of services to citizens in accordance with the conditions of health safety and reduce crowding due to the increasing number of infections with the Coronavirus in the recent period.
In its weekly session today under the chairmanship of Premier Eng. Hussein Arnous, the cabinet called on all citizens to follow the highest levels of care, responsibility, and not to slacken pursuing the health requirements and spatial distance at work and home in order to preserve public health.
Dr. Nizar Yazji, Minister of Health, gave a presentation on the reality of recent infections with the Corona virus and the Ministry’s measures to contain its spread, confirming that all people who had come in contacts with infected cases in Jdaidet al-Fadel will be tested with the aim of limiting the infections and preventing the spread of the virus.
The Ministries of Interior, Local Administration and Environment and Internal Trade and Consumer Protection were asked to intensify tours on markets, restaurants and mass transportation to ensure compliance with health safety measures and strict punishment for violators.
Regarding the economic and living situation and securing the basic needs of citizens at reasonable prices, the Cabinet asked all Ministries to follow up the citizens’ daily issues and informed the Ministry of Trade and Economy to secure basic materials in the outlets of the Syrian Trade Establishment in sufficient quantities and sell them to citizens through the e-services card.
The Cabinet adopted the “National System for Government Electronic Transactions” which was prepared by the Ministry of Communications and Technology with the aim of rationalizing the use of paper correspondence in ministries and government institutions, and limiting it to the necessary ones.
On the other hand, the Cabinet stressed the completion of the projects under implementation in the governorates of “Damascus countryside, Lattakia, Daraa, Suwaida and Quneitra” that would improve the services provided to citizens directly.
The Cabinet also reviewed a draft law to exempt business owners who are subscribers at the General Organization of Social Insurance from the interest and additional sums for a period of one year in order to include establishments in the newly liberated areas.
The Cabinet agreed to grant a financial grant to the Syrian Railways Establishment to pay salaries, wages and social insurance for its employees.
In a statement to reporters after the session, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Eng. Hussein Makhlouf underlined the importance of achieving more progress in the implemented and still under implementation production projects in Lattakia Governorate.
For his part, Minister of Communications and Technology, Iyad Al-Khatib, stated that the implementation of service requests of Suwaida governorate will be followed up with the special authorities, especially with regard to developing the industrial zone and linking it with the railway reaching to Damascus in order to facilitate the transport of products.
