US “Caesar Act” receives more condemnation

The unfair US “Caesar Act”, which tightens the economic siege imposed on the Syrian people, continues to receive condemnation from Arab and foreign parties.

In Amman, Member of the Jordanian Parliament Nidal Ta’ani stressed that the so-called Caesar Act will have negative impacts on Syria, Jordan and the entire region.

In a statement to SANA correspondent on Saturday, Ta’ani said the new brutal US legislation comes after the failure of the terrorist scheme backed by the United States and its allies to undermine the Syrian state.

On his part, George Haddadin, Secretary General of the Jordanian National Initiative, said that the US Caesar Act subjugates the countries and societies that oppose the American punitive policy, affirming that the workers, the poor and the vulnerable citizens are actually the most affected categories by this law. He called for building national productive economy in Syria and for establishing an integrated economic bloc between resistance countries.

In the same context, the Lebanese People’s Congress and the Arab Democratic Nasserist Party in Egypt condemned Caesar Act as it targets the steadfastness of the Syrian and Lebanese people.

In a joint statement, the two Arab parties said that the American administration, despite its internal crises, has enforced the aggressive Caesar Act and thus declares a war of starvation against the Syrian and Lebanese people. This US behavior requires an official and popular Arab stand against this law that contradicts human rights and the international laws that govern relations between countries, the parties added.

The statement pointed out that Caesar Act is an American and Zionist aggression that is not less heinous than the 2006 aggression against Lebanon and the repeated Zionist attacks on Syria .

Arab popular forces must face this aggression by rejecting it and helping the Syrian people confront it, the statement said.

American Caesar Act is part of the global conspiracy against Syria

In Ankara, the retired Turkish General Naim Baburoglu asserted that the American coercive measures against Syria is part of the global conspiracy which has been targeting the country since 2011 to serve the Zionist schemes and the colonialists’ aspirations in the region.

In a statement, Baburoglu said that despite their danger, these sanctions won’t affect Syria’s position and that of its allies’ on rejecting the imperialist schemes in the region.

Basil: Caesar Act targets both Syria and Lebanon

Former Lebanese Foreign Minister Jibran Basil said that the US Caesar Act targets both Syria and Lebanon, which is something unacceptable.

“Syria is the lung through which Lebanon breathes,” Basil said.

He added that Caesar Act is not an international law, rather, it was made by America to worsen the economic conditions in Syria. He warned that imposing this law will suffocate Lebanon.
