DAMASCUS, (ST)- Eleven new infections with COVID-19 have been detected in Syria, while five other patients have recovered, the Health Ministry announced on Saturday.
The total number of infections are now 198.
The new cases are 10 persons who were in close contact with infected persons in Jdaydat al-Fadle area, while one of them was a person who came from Lebanon, according to the ministry.
The ministry added that 83 patients have recovered and 7 have died.
The first coronavirus case was confirmed in Syria on March 22 for a person who came from abroad, while the first death with this disease was reported on March 29.
