“Rasyoun” village a Unique Experience for lovers of History, Adventure and Exploring in Lattakia

The wonderful tourist sites in Lattakia province form an important part of Syria’s tourism map.  They  attract tourists from around Syria and abroad  who prefer alternative recreation that puts them in close touch with nature.

Exploring and adventure  tourism is being considered by more and more people. It is a fantastic way to get  right into the middle of a stunning landscape, and to feel part of the region you are visiting to.

Lattakia enjoys different kinds of terrains including the sea, mountains, plains, woods  where lovers of nature can   carry out their  sport activities such as hiking,  walking, exploring, going on an adventure    and camping. 

 The village of “Rasyoun” , located in Al-Haffah region , 28 km from Lattakia, is a suitable destination for lovers of climbing ,  exploring  and adventure sports .

 It provides a unique experience of rest and relaxation in a calm atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city and travels with its visitors on a journey through time. 

Rasyoun’s   ancient stone houses and paths  recall   the  magnificant memories of the   past  and  how  the ancestors’ way of life  was.

The village is characterized by an attractive  site   and stunning panoramic views, which are surrounded by mountain peaks, forests ,  valleys  and a  huge water dam  west of the village.

Rasyoun’s  mayor, Saif  Eddin  Al-Jurdi,  told SANA  that the village is about 400 meters above sea level and is characterized by its mild climate and  refreshing air.

He  referred to  the preservation  of  the simple  way of rural  life there  with its customs, traditions, homes, terraces and lanes.

Rasyoun is famous for spreading mountain terraces which are  planted with olives, wheat, tobacco ,  fruitful trees, medicinal and aromatic herbs in addition to  vegetables.

Al-Jurdi said that  the  population of the village  is about 800 , most of whom work in agriculture and livestock, underlining that the village contains great investment and tourism opportunities.

Fares Al-Jurdi, a resident of the village, talked about the old mud houses  there which  date back more than 100 years.

According to Al-Jurdi, the village includes a church and a mosque whose features had disappeared through  time  like  many other archaeological sites..
