Participants in the national rally that was held today on the Cornice of Tartous Beach confirmed their rejection and denunciation of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people and their condemnation of the so-called “Caesar Act”, stressing their adherence to national principles and standing with the homeland to confront the economic war and the unfair siege that the Syrian people are being subjected to.
Participants in the rally lifted a 2-Km national flag and raised banners denouncing economic terrorism and emphasizing the steadfastness in the face of the aggressive forces that failed to achieve their plans previously through the terrorists. The participants stressed that after the elimination of terrorism, the aggressive forces resorted to another form of terrorism represented in the inhuman blockade on the Syrian people, thus depriving them of their right to lead a decent life. The participants drew attention to their support to the Syrian Arab Army to counter terrorism.
The Director of Tartous Endowments, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sayyed stressed in his speech that today’s message is from all sectors of the Syrian people and that we will defeat the siege as we have overcome terrorism.
In turn, Bishop of Safita of the Greek Orthodox Dmitry Shreik said that the Syrian people are strong people, and we are proud that the Syrian people are sons of civilization and that Syria is the cradle of religions, so we will create the future for our country, whatever the difficulties.
Archimandrite Alexei Nassour, the bishop of Akkar for the Greek Orthodox in Tartous confirmed that this solidarity rally aims to convey a message, firstly to the aggression forces that chose to punish a people with their livelihood and to force them to uplift the sanctions immediately, and secondly for the Syrian people that we adhere to work, production and correction.
Both Sheikh Muhammed Yahya and Firas Salman reiterated that this rally is an affirmation of the Syrians ’resilience in the face of sanctions and their insistence on resistance to realize victory, indicating that the Syrian people are renewed and capable of overcoming the so-called Caesar Act through work, production and self-reliance.
Ayman Othman and Abo Muhammad, wounded soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army, said, “We are here to confirm our steadfastness and patriotism.”
Ghinwa Hassan, the wife of the martyr Iyad Ghanem, gave a speech on behalf of the families of the martyrs, in which she emphasized that “whoever sacrificed in defense of his homeland will not allow his sacrifices to be wasted, and as the pure blood triumphed over terrorism, we will win over the unfair siege thanks to our unity and steadfastness.”
The head of Tartous Branch of the Union of Journalists Aidah Dayob, confirmed that the journalists would remain the mouthpiece of every free and honorable Syrian through their voices and stances.
Engineer Nagham Asfouri said that no one has the right to impose on us anything that contradicts our principles. Whoever stands and sacrifices during the terrorist war is able to withstand and overcome all pressures.
A number of workers in the agricultural sector considered that although this sector was affected by unfair sanctions,” we are still working to secure our basic agricultural products and the need for the local market, and to achieve self-sufficiency.”
