Palestinian politicians: The Syrians will triumph over sanctions as they did in their war on terrorist organizations

Palestinian politicians have described the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by the United States on Syria under the so-called “Caesar Act” as economic terrorism, stressing that the steadfast Syrian people will triumph over these sanctions as they did in their war on terrorist organizations backed by Washington and its agents in the region.

Wasel Abu Yusuf, Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) said in a statement to SANA that “Caesar Act” is a new American aggression on the Syrian people and it is a crime against humanity.

“It is one of the tools of Washington’s war on Syria particularly after it had failed in undermining the Syrian state and achieving its hegemony schemes,” Abu Yusuf said.

He added that the “Caesar Act” reveals the coordination between the United States and the Israeli occupation entity because the new US legislation against Syria is being implemented while Israel is pressing ahead with its plan to annex parts of the West Bank. The aim is to implement the ill-famed “Deal of the Century” that seeks to undermine the Palestinian cause.

He called on all freedom-loving people in the world to voice solidarity with Syria in the face of the American arrogant policy.

Mariam Abu Daqqa, Member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, clarified that the United States is the sponsor of terrorism in the world. Over the past nine years, Washington has been imposing a heinous war on Syria to undermine the state and weaken its role in the axis of resistance, but when it failed to achieve its scheme it resorted to economic terrorism.

 She stressed that Syria will continue to be the beating heart of Arabism and the strong fortress of resistance in the confrontation of the US destructive schemes in the region.

Abu Daqqa indicated that Washington is using the same dirty method in its aggression and economic siege on the Palestinian people.

On his part, Tal’at al-Safadi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian People’s Party, said that “Caesar Act” is a form of terrorism to achieve the US colonialist goals, pointing out that the American economic terrorism will be defeated thanks to the  steadfastness of the Syrian people.
