ALEPPO, (ST)- The eastern countryside of Aleppo is rich with abundant yields of different crops that constitute an integrated food basket of various cereals and vegetables. The farmers in this area restored their cultivation activity after the liberation of their lands from terrorism and after water and other related services had been secured.
Farmer Hmeidi al-Ayed, who has returned to his town, from which he was displaced because of terrorism, has started an agricultural project in the village of Dweirineh of Aleppo eastern countryside. He grew summer vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, aubergine, green peppers and beans in order to meet his needs of food and market the surplus.
The agricultural lands are watered through the irrigation networks and canals that belong to the Maskana agricultural project in Aleppo countryside, which extends on an area of more than 17 thousand hectares.
