“Caesar Act” proves the bankruptcy of the US policy in Syria: Sener

ANKARA, (ST)- Abdullatif Sener, a former Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, has affirmed that the new US coercive measures imposed on Syria, under the so-called “Caesar Act”, prove the bankruptcy of the US policy in Syria and the region.

In a statement on Friday, Sener said “over the past three years, all the stances  of the US President Donald Trump have served Israeli interests only and targeted the security and stability of Syria, the only Arab country that has confronted the schemes of imperialist countries and colluding reactionary regimes in the region.”

Syria has been witnessing a matchless global war over the past nine years, Sener said, adding that “it is futile to bet on the surrender of the Syrian state and the Syrian people, who have endured years of brutal war.”

“Despite the difficult economic and financial situation, which the Syrian citizens are suffering from ,I am sure that the sanctions won’t affect the steadfastness of the Syrians, a fact that Trump and his allies can’t understand,” Sener clarified.

“Had it not been for the victories achieved by the Syrian people and Syria’s allies, the entire region would have faced a dangerous situation,” he pointed out.
