Havana (ST): A number of Cuban journalists and physicians have denounced the continuity of the unilateral coercive measures against Syria and the so-called Caesar Act stressing that such measures are considered a savage criminal act in light of the current difficult circumstances and the spread of the Corona virus pandemic.
Cuban journalist Arlene Rodriguez demanded, in a letter she delivered through her famous TV program “Roundtable”, to immediately lift the coercive measures being imposed on the Syrian people because they directly affect the Syrian people’s ability to obtain medicine and equipment required to combat the Corona virus pandemic.
She added that medical care is a basic human right and preventing people from obtaining it constitutes a criminal act against humanity, affirming that Syrian people deserve to live a dignified life.
In turn, Cuban Journalist Martin Hatson affirmed that it is inadmissible to impose sanctions, aggressive measures or economic embargo against any country in the world, noting that as the world countries are facing the Corona virus pandemic, more cooperation and solidarity are needed among world states.
He severely denounced the US aggressive measures against Syria saying that Syria has been facing terrorist war for more than nine years.
Physician Isabel Saberio demanded for immediately lifting the unfair blockade being imposed on Syrian people, especially in light of the spread of the Corona virus pandemic.
