Racism and injustice are deep-rooted in the American society: Czech writer

PRAGUE, (ST)- Czech writer Rudolf Hruboň has stressed that what is going on in the United States proves that racism, injustice and social non-coexistence are deep-rooted in the American society.

In an article published by the Czech “Národní Noviny” website, Hruboň said that the United States had better find a solution to its current internal crisis rather than talking about the situation of human rights in the world.

“The United States acts as the judge of the world, assessing human rights situation in all countries while forgetting to assess its own internal situation. It is a complete farce,” said Hruboň.

He added that the American administration divides the world in terms of human rights into two parts: the first contains the countries which obey the US dictates and follow its steps economically and politically, while the second contains countries with independent policies that are not obedient to American dictates, such as Russia, China and Syria. They are the countries that are exposed to  US criticism the most.

Protests against the racism and violence of police forces in the United States continue unabated following the murder of George Floyd, a US citizen of African origin, on May 25 by a US officer who was kneeling on Floyd’s neck, ignoring his pleas. The US authorities have faced these protests by violence and suppression.
