Iraq & Saudi Arabia set records in Corona virus infections

Baghdad (ST): The Iraqi Ministry of Health and Environment announced that 781 new Corona virus infections were registered raising the number of infections to 8168.

In a statement the Ministry said that that the infections were distributed as follows: 437 in Baghdad, 19 in Najaf, 41 in Basra, 46 in al-Suleimaniyeh, 6 in Arbil, 52 in Dohok, 11 in Karbala’ a, 35 in Misan, 7 in al-Diwaniyeh, 28 in Zee Qar 18 in al-Muthanna and 5 in al-Anbar.

The Ministry added that the deaths resulting from the spread of the fatal virus reached 256, while 4095 recovered and 3817 are still being treated at medical isolation centres.

 

In Saudi Arabia, 981 infections were registered in 11 days in a high increase in comparison with the last few weeks.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health Mohammad al-Abed said that the number arouses concern, especially after the retreat of infections during the past period.

Tangible increase of Corona virus infections  has been witnessed in Saudi Arabia  during the past two weeks as the infections reached 91182 including 579 deaths and 68159 recovery.
