Palestinian Awqaf Ministry calls on the international Community to stop the occupation’s attempt to Judaize al-Ibrahimi Mosque

Occupied al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Awqaf (Islamic endowments) Ministry has renewed its call on the international community to stop the Israeli occupation plans to Judaize Al-Haram al-Ibrahimi (al-Ibrahimi Mosque) in the West Bank city of Hebron.

Wafa news agency quoted the director of the Endowments of Hebron, Hafezi Abu Sunaina, as saying that the occupation authorities prevented the call to prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque 54 times during the month of May, in a violation of the freedom of worship related to the heavenly laws and international laws, adding that the occupation authorities also prevented the workers of the Hebron Rehabilitation Committee from completing the restoration and maintenance work on the campus.

Abu Sunaina called on the international community to take action to stop the violations of the occupation.

Ahmed al-Tamimi, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, explained that the occupation forces intensified their military checkpoints in the Old City of Hebron and the vicinity of the Temple Mount to block Palestinian access to it and prevent them from entering it.

On May 3, the occupation authorities announced a plan which aimed at seizing large areas of Palestinian lands in the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque, in order to establish new settlement outposts.
