After stopping during the years of the terrorist war, the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus opens Russian language courses
On May 31, the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus announced the opening of Russian language courses and the gradual return of its activities after it stopped for years during the terrorist war on Syria.
The Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Damascus Eldar Qurbanof refered to the strength and historical depth of the Russian-Syrian relations and the importance of resuming Russian language courses.
He expressed his hope that it would be a first step towards developing this educational and cultural work that contributes to strengthening relations between the two peoples and restoring the cultural center so it is fully operational.
For his part, Director of the Russian Cultural Center Nikolai Sukhov showed that the opening of the Russian language courses reflects a gradual return to the activity of the center in full later, while taking of precautionary measures to address the Corona virus.
He said that there will be courses of the Russian language at several levels and for all ages in addition to courses in music, drawing and other fields as the center’s activities.
Exhibitions of Syrian and Russian artists also will be shown in Syrian governorates
