Syrian Arab army advances in al-Qusayr, kills 131 terrorists

PROVINCES,(ST)_Units of armed forces is advancing in al-Dab’a military airbase outside al-Qusayr city amid reports of fierce fighting in the northern and middle quarters of the city ended in killing head of the so-called “al-Farouq” battalion and 100 gunmen.

The Syrian alikhbaria al-Soreyeh TV Channel asserted Sunday the death of Belal Idris (who is called Ben Laden 2), head of the “al-Farouq” battalion with 100 of his men in fighting broke out between terrorists and the Syrian army in al-Qusayr city’s northern area.

The Syrian TV channel cameraman in al-Dab’a town was injured as terrorists opened fire on him while covering clashes there.

al-Hamedeyeh town under army’s control

Outside al-Qusayr city, the Syrian Arab army has imposed control over al-Hamedeyeh town after cleansing it of terrorists.

 This fresh gain, according to al-Mayadeen TV Channel, will help cut off supplies for the terrorists and prevent them from moving between al-Dab’a, al-Qusayr and al-Hamedeyeh areas.

In Homs city, intense clashes broke out between Syrian army and terrorists in Joret al-Shayyah, al-Hamedeyeh, al-Warsheh, al-Qarabis and a-Waer alleys resulted in eliminating more than 20 terrorists.

Other terrorists were reportedly killed and injured during army’s operations against terrorists’ hideouts in towns of al-Dar al-Kabira, al-Ghanto, Talbeseh, al-Amereyeh and al-Nasereyeh outside Homs.

Fighting outside capital  

The army’s achievements in the central Homs province coincided with a series of operations carried out against foreign-backed terrorists in Harasta, Erbin, Doma, Eastern Ghouta, Jobar and Barzeh areas outside the capital.

At least 11 terrorists including non-Syrian ones were killed in the today- operations.

In Hama province, 209 Km north of Damascus, a unit of armed forces confronted yesterday an armed terrorist group that tried to attack town of Qebbet al-Kerdi in al-Salameyeh area outside the province.

An official source told SANA that the armed forces prevented the terrorist group form entering the town and killed many of them, adding that the group’s arms were confiscated.

To the northwest of the capital, a quarrel broke out between two terrorist groups over sharing loots in Maarretmesrin town outside Idlib province.

Most of the two groups’ members were killed or injured.

Syria is facing a foreign-backed war that aims to weaken the Syrian Arab army and destroy national economy to serve Israel’s interests in the region.

The US, France, Britain, Qatar, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia fund and support the terrorist groups, who perpetrate heinous crimes against citizen and destroy Syria’s infrastructure.
