Rouhani: Al-Quds will not remain occupied

TEHRAN, (ST)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has stressed that al-Quds will not  will not remain occupied and Palestine will finally be liberated in full thanks to the resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

During a meeting for the Iranian Cabinet on Wednesday, Rouhani said the people of Iran commemorate al-Quds Day to reaffirm of the fact that Al-Quds will never be forgotten and will not remain occupied by the oppressors, reiterating Iran’s support for the oppressed Palestinian people.

“We won’t accept or tolerate oppression against the Palestinians in any way. Resisting the oppressors and supporting the oppressed is one of the main principles of Iran’s policy,” Rouhani said.

Meantime, Iran’s Assembly of Experts has called on the Islamic countries to be united against efforts aiming at normalizing ties with the Israeli enemy and to adhere to resistance as the option to liberate the occupied Palestinian lands and restore the usurped rights of the Palestinian people.

 In a statement marking the International al-Quds Day, the experts’ assembly said that Moslems, particularly the Palestinian people, should be convinced that the war to liberate Palestine is through increasing the impetus of their Intifada and resistance.

The assembly pointed out that the global coronavirus pandemic has led to canceling public protests on al-Quds Day, reiterating that the Iranian people will support the Palestinian issue stronger than ever.
