Tens of dunums planted with wheat and barley burned as a result of infighting among Turkish-backed terrorist groups
HASAKA, (ST)-Tens of dunums planted with wheat and barley in Hasaka countryside were burned in fires caused by the Turkish-backed terrorists during their infighting.
According to local sources, the Turkish-backed terrorists of the so-called Failaq al-Rahman, Sultan Murad, Ahrar al-Sharqiya and Firqat al-Mu’tasem terror groups set fire to several fields near Tal Tamer in the northwest part of Hasaka within the framework of the infighting among these warring groups. The sources told SANA reporter that these groups seek to divide the areas of power and to have control over the locals’ agricultural crops.
Sometimes, the terrorists fire explosive bullets at wheat and barley fields near the areas they control so that these areas catch fire and burn, the sources said.
Head of Hasaka Agricultural Directorate Rajab Salameh said in a statement to SANA that several fires have broken out in agricultural fields in Tal Tamer countryside, particularly in the areas controlled by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
He pointed out that no statistics are available about the burned areas.
