DAMASCUS, (ST)- 250 Syrians, who were stranded abroad because of global anti-coronavirus measures, returned home on Monday on board the Syrian Airlines coming from the Russian Vnukovo International Airport.
The flight was organized in implementation of the Syrian government’s team tasked with taking measures necessary to confront coronavirus.
Head of Damascus Health Directorate Hazar Raef told SANA reporter that the passengers were transported by buses to quarantine centers in Damascus where they will stay 14 days to make sure that they are not infected with the deadly virus.

The aim of the quarantine is to guarantee the safety of those individuals and to prevent any kind of contact with their families and other people in society except after making sure that they aren’t infected, according to Raef.
She said that the quarantine centers are well-equipped to provide all appropriate accommodation services for passengers, pointing out that a specialized medical team will supervise the health care through providing necessary medical services and conducting tests around the clock.
On Saturday, two planes carrying 393 Syrians stranded abroad because of coronavirus arrived at Damascus International Airport coming from Sudan and Oman.
