Peskov: Western sanctions against Russia gang restrictions

Moscow,(ST)-Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has described Western sanctions against Russia as “gang restrictions”, while denying there are signs that they could be eased.

Peskov, in an interview with RTVI broadcast today, played down Western sanctions and their impact on his country. “The crises are becoming worse and Russia has learned to live in such conditions,” he said.

In response to a question about signs of easing Western sanctions, Peskov clarified that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not raising this issue in his dialogue with his counterparts.

It is noteworthy that the relations between Russia and the western countries, including the European Union countries, deteriorated under the pretext of its position on the Ukrainian crisis and the return of Crimea to Russia in March 2014, when the European Union and the United States imposed sanctions packages, to which Moscow responded by taking similar measures.

On the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, a spokesman for the Russian presidency said, “Unlike the United States, no humanitarian catastrophic events occurred in Russia due to the pandemic.” Russia and primarily in the city of Moscow.
